The Tioga County NMT Expansion: Removing Barriers to Recovery
The Problem
In Tioga County, the lack of transportation is the #2 barrier to health. For those in recovery from Opioid Use Disorder, no ride often means no treatment.
The Solution
Managed by CASA-Trinity, this pilot program provides free, non-medical rides for individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD). We bridge the gap between home and the services that make recovery possible.
Where We Go
– Treatment: Doctor’s offices, counseling, and pharmacies.
– Support: 12-step meetings and peer advocacy.
– Stability: Grocery stores, food pantries, and court appointments.
– Growth: Job interviews and education.
Why It Works
– Proven: Over 6.000 rides already completed across the UNYICN network.
– Reliable: Powered by Ride Health, featuring vetted drivers and specialized rural routing.
– Targeted: Directly funded to abate the opioid crisis by keeping people connected to care.
Impact
“I feel like I’m no longer a burden to my family. This helps me get to my appointments and back to school.” — Program Participant
