Providing Transportation for Social Care Needs

By providing transportation through Ride Health and bus passes, we are helping people in our communities get access to services that are not covered by Medicaid. This includes trips to the grocery store, pharmacy, vocational training, court appointments, substance use disorder treatment and support groups, recovery support, and so much more.

Since January 2024, the UNYICN network has provided thousands of rides and bus passes for non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) needs. Current participating organizations include CASA-Trinity, Catholic Charities Family and Community Services, Center for Community Alternatives, Delphi Rise, Father Tracy Advocacy Center, Huther Doyle, the Institute for Human Services, Jordan Health, Mental Health Association of Rochester, ROCovery, and Villa of Hope.

In December 2025, CASA-Trinity, the NEMT grant fiduciary, was awarded $50,000 in grant funding by the Tioga County Office of Mental Hygiene to expand transportation services to people with a history of substance use disorder to aid in their recovery.
